Chronic Cough
What is chronic cough?
Chronic cough is all that persists for more than three weeks without an obvious cause.
What causes it?
First, look on the characteristics of the cough, for it was divided into a productive cough (with phlegm) and nonproductive cough.
When the cough is productive we think of a chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, chronic sinusitis, pneumonitis, bronchiectasis, and bacterial tracheitis.If the cough is dry or nonproductive, we can think of chronic rhinitis, laryngeal cancer, lung cancer, emphysema, otitis externa and media, nodules on vocal cords, interstitial lung disease and congestive heart failure.
They can also cause a nonproductive cough pollution, certain medications such as antihypertensive blockers and ACE inhibitors derived. Some conditions such as the lymph nodes, aneurysms of the aorta and gastroesophageal reflux. They may also be uncertain cause of cough.
SYMPTOMS
The symptoms of chronic cough, as discussed at the beginning can be productive or nonproductive, this means that there may be phlegm (mucus output by mouth) or not. When there spitting it will have certain characteristics depending on their origin.
Psychogenic cough usually goes away with sleep and when you develop an activity.
DIAGNOSIS
The diagnosis is made when the cough lasts for more than three weeks.

The treatment of chronic cough will depend on a comprehensive review of the possible causes behind the diagnosis is the initial cause.
