What is the hip joint?
It is the linker that build bone of the femur to the pelvis, the femoral head is shaped like a sphere that fits into the socket of the pelvis, which is shaped like a cup. Its height corresponds roughly to the groin.
The femoral head and acetabulum are heavily encased by the strength of the ligaments and muscles, but instead the femoral neck is much more accessible. The neck is the bridge between the femoral head to the main part, called the diaphysis, which corresponds to the thigh. What is hip arthroscopy?
Arthroscopy is a surgical technique that allows direct view of the interior of a joint and work within it, without opening it. Only a small practice “cuts” or cutting the skin, less than an inch each (hence called mini-invasive technique).
Hip arthroscopy is a technique still very new and undeveloped compared to arthroscopy of the knee or shoulder, so the benefits are even smaller. The surgeon must be familiar with general arthroscopic techniques to practice, because of its difficulty.
