A New Disease In The Crop Of Mangoes
The area of Environment of the Healthy Department and Experimentation Station Mayora Carob, have signed an agreement to boost agricultural production research Malaga in the context of sustainability and the environment.
The agreement, in which the County Council participates with 25,000 euros, will aim to develop three research areas this year: the study of the origin and control of mango malformation, the recovery of the traditional variety of tomato and Malaga melon, and sustainable production of avocados, through utilization of organic waste to produce compost.
The malformation of mango crop that has a large presence in the region of Axarquia, along with avocado and cherimoya is a new disease that has spread wherever there is this culture, besides being an extremely serious problem that is causing economic losses, as it can affect both floral barren as the vegetative.
