fruits and vegetables5 a day is the minimum number of servings of fruits and vegetables we eat every day if we want to maintain a healthy and balanced diet.

For five servings of fruits and vegetables a day we provide:
- Large amount of water (between 75% and 95% of its weight is water)
- Vitamins, water soluble like vitamin C, folic acid and small amounts of other B group vitamins (B1, B2, B3 and B6) and fat-soluble compounds such as carotenoids (mainly beta-carotene) with pro-vitamin activity and vitamins A and E. K
- Mineral among which potassium, magnesium and small amounts of calcium, iron and phosphorus.
- Phytochemicals (volatile organic compounds present in foods of plant origin that, in general, there are nutrients that exert beneficial effects on health) among which we can highlight the carotenoid compounds, phenolic compounds, glucosinolates and phytosterols, and fiber.
